Dr Amiya Bhaumik
Chief Executive and Director/Member of Board
Dr. Amiya Bhaumik is the CEO, Director, and Board Member of the Lincoln Institute of Higher Education in Sydney, Australia, and a globally recognized leader in higher education. With a Ph.D. and multiple advanced degrees across biology, psychology, culture, and international management, Dr. Bhaumik brings decades of experience in academic leadership, policy development, and international collaboration. He is the Founding President and former Vice Chancellor of Lincoln University College, Malaysia, which offers over 160 programs in more than 30 countries. Dr. Bhaumik has worked with numerous international universities and previously served as Director of International Affairs at Ottawa University (USA). Since 2022, he has also served as Mayor of the City of Akko in Gombe, Africa. Dr. Bhaumik has travelled to over 120 countries advancing global education and has been honored with the Bintang Cemerlang Melaka (B.C.M.) by the Government of Malaysia. He has authored over 200 research publications, edited volumes with major academic publishers, and serves as Editor-in-Chief for several journals in Malaysia and Australia. Guided by the philosophy that “Work is Worship,” Dr. Bhaumik is committed to expanding access to transformative education worldwide.
Professor Mahfuz Ashraf
Academic Dean
Dr. Mahfuz Ashraf is the Dean and Professor at the Lincoln Institute of Higher Education, Sydney. With more than 20 years of experience in academia, he is passionate aboutcreating an environment where students thrive through innovation, research, and meaningful
learning.
Dr. Ashraf’s work spans Business, Information Systems, and Technology, with a strong focus on how these fields can improve lives and communities. He has published over 50 research papers and led projects in areas such as health leadership, social entrepreneurship, and ICT for development—always with a vision to drive positive social impact.
Equally committed to teaching and mentorship, he has guided more than 40 research students who have gone on to successful careers in universities, industries, andgovernment. His approach to leadership combines academic excellence with a genuine care
for students’ growth and success.
Dr. Ashraf’s own academic journey through reputed universities in Australia, the UK, and Bangladesh inspires his belief in education as a transformative force—something he strives to bring to every student at Lincoln Institute.
